Timon

Click an image for more information. Designed and fabricated by Julie Guilbeau* Timon was my final project for my puppet design and fabrication independent study. I made this puppet while I was working on my capstone project, so it ended up taking up the majority of my allotted time for this independent study. I designed my take on the Timon puppet from "The Lion King" on Broadway to be semi wearable and a much more simplified version of the incredibly complex Broadway puppet. The Broadway puppet was inspired by Japanese Bunraku puppets, which are infamously complicated and detailed. There were several elements of this design that did not end up working out the way I planned, but I am pleased with the result nonetheless.
